I wrote another book! It is a short book to be exact.

At 19, I carry two (short) books in my hands and attached to my name. My book is called “The Rant”. A 30-page book about a jester who gets accidentally invited to a party where he decides to crash. I forgot to mention, that in a town where no one complains the town complains about him. He is ready to make it fun.

I wrote and made the artwork in 3 days. Over Spring Break. That’s exciting.

Sometimes I think about the passions I have for things. My tools and artworks connect me to the real world. I often believe that if it wasn’t for these things, I wouldn’t be here or me. Exactly, my identity would have nothing.

Studying philosophy is a rewarding experience but it is challenging. I am not the brightest tool in the shed but this tool loves to keep cutting in places it knows is rusty at. Maybe this is a system of imposter syndrome I am not familiar with but I recognize that my skills aren’t at the level I want them to be. I enjoy exploring these difficult topics that contain so many arguments and conclusions that don’t exist. It is there but I have to find it. I need to be comfortable not knowing the answer which is okay. Although, I confuse that with a harsh critique of myself. Making the blur between talentless in traditional academia and artistic academia. I wish I would be able to pick up the readings of difficult texts more accurately rather than be behind everyone else. I realize I need to let this mindset go. I am used to doing/creating everything quickly because that’s how I am as a person. Tambien quiero escribir mas en Español porque eso es lo que me ase a mi.

Estoy feliz haciendo lo que amo.

Oh yeah. I cut my hair. Yippee

I wrote a book! It is a marvelous historic piece of literature.

At 19, I self-published my book called “The Mime Who Yelled.” A 90-page book about a mime who recently graduates from the Mime School and faces a series of events that determine his future and others. It’s a very surreal and absurdist piece of work and my first attempt at writing a short novella. The narrative changes to represent the character and setting of the book. I wrote this in 2 weeks + 2 days of doing cover art. It took me a week to write, another week to edit, and 2 days to do the cover art. I can explain more but for now, I want to write more! Maybe another book perhaps? ;)

Major and Minor update: My minor might be in Literature and Cultural Studies

Currently as of December 10th, 2024…

I am a second year at Michigan State University with a double major in Philosophy and Theatre with a minor in Writing.

I am currently working at Broad Art Museum as 1 of 6 Student Creatives, coordinating events at the museum.

I am working on a show 9 to 5 as an Assistant Paint Charge at Michigan State.

I am part of 3 Clubs as a board member and 1 club attending regularly.

As the Fall Semester comes to a close end, I have been overwhelmed by so many opportunities to experience something new. I am excited about what the new semester will bring.

Over the break, I will be creating music, visual art, and a secret project I can’t spoil yet sometime soon.

Chaos at it’s finest. However, Life is quite organized.

Sincerely from an artist,

Romo De Ashley
